About Embracing Mortality

Embracing Mortality was created by 

Mitzi Brasseaux Savage, 

End of Life Doula

Doctor of Nursing Practice 

and 

Family Nurse Practitioner 

(DNP-FNP-C)


Mitzi began her healthcare career in 1996 at Emory University Hospital in Atlanta, Georgia.  


As a registered nurse she worked in various settings: 

ICU, home health, assisted living, and ambulatory care.    


Mitzi currently provides care to Veterans as a Nurse Practitioner at the Oklahoma City VA

Mission: Provide education and advocacy on end-of-life care and planning. Inspire end-of-life conversations to normalize death as a part of life. 


Vision:  By influencing end-of-life conversations, we will improve death literacy which enriches the compassion of communities and normalizes the transition of death as a dignified, honored, natural event. 


Purpose:  Promoting quality of life through the last chapter by helping people understand their health/illness, inspiring them to choose end-of-life care that supports their wishes, values, and goals.
